Hamilton is a musical that premiered in 2015 about Alexander Hamilton. The movie version was released on Disney+ in 2020, five years after the musical premiered. Now, the movie has been in theaters since September 5, 2025, in honor of it being 10 years since the musical premiered.

It features the original Broadway cast, such as Lin-Manuel Miranda (Alexander Hamilton), Phillipa Soo (Eliza Schuyler-Hamilton), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler), Leslie Odom Jr. (Aaron Burr), and others.

Hamilton (2015) is a Broadway musical written and composed by Lin-Manuel Miranda about Alexander Hamilton and his whole life, from his childhood up to his tragic death in a duel against Aaron Burr.

It shows how he rose to power from being an orphan immigrant from the Caribbean, and he went from a poor kid to George Washington’s advisor in the American Revolution, then eventually the first Secretary of the Treasury.

The musical ends with Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton dueling. Hamilton dies from getting shot, and Burr feels guilty and everyone hates him for killing Hamilton. In the final song (Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story?), they recap everything that happened after he died and the impact he had on our country and their lives.

Lin-Manuel Miranda and the rest of the original cast has stated at the beginning of the film in the theaters that he wants everyone watching Hamilton in theaters to sing their hearts out to all the songs that they know.

However, some people still go into the theater and do not sing, but others argue that they should be singing because Lin said to.

Everyone who goes to the movie theater to watch Hamilton should have a great experience watching it, singing along or not. Whether you’re a diehard Hamilton fan or you’re watching it for the first time, you should go watch Hamilton in theaters now.
