The series of the avatar movies began with “Avatar,” released Dec. 18th, 2009. “Avatar” featured Jake Sully, played by Sam Worthington, who is a crippled Marine given a second chance at life to live as an Avatar on Pandora, a hybrid body that is linked to his mind and allows humans to explore the planet. In simple terms, the movies revolve around the planet Pandora, the native species, Na’vi, and humans trying to inhabit the extraordinary planet, destroying habitats and killing lifeforms.

Knowing all events that occurred in the first movie, the second and third movies follow closely behind. In “Avatar: Way of Water,” Jake Sully and his family travel to other parts of the world and meet new tribes. In the second movie, in a flee from Quaritch and the war, the Sully family came across the Metkayian clan, a water tribe, and eventually became one with the clan, living and interacting with everyone as they would at home. However after living with the Metkayian clan for three years peacefully, fate decided to take a turn for the Sully family.

While mourning the death of their oldest son, Jake and Neytiri decided that Spider, their adopted human son, could not live with them for much longer seeing as it was a threat to his life for him to stay on Pandora. This was a rough debate but soon agreed on opinion between Neytiri and Jake, seeing that Neytiri wanted Spider dead. After the kids found out about Spider needing to leave, they tried to fight their parents' decisions, arguing Spider was family.

Saying they wanted him to stay and had no right to take him away especially after losing Neteyam. After arguments and a few days, they later decided that if the spider couldn't stay, they could at least travel with him to send him away.

The movie overall, from the beginning to the end, kept people on edge, especially with the new villain Varang. Her captivating demeanor conquers the screen every time she appears. She was making sure her presence was known and used fear and violence to dominate. Aside from Varang and her interesting relationship with Quaritch and the “sky people,” the movie also intensified the relationship between Neytiri and Jake. The third movie, “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” was mainly about introducing the Ash Clan. We see the crazy fight between the Sully family and the Ash people and even a plot-twisting alliance between Varang, the violent and ruthless leader of the Ash people, and Quaritch that proves to be surprising yet very interesting.

Throughout the movie, we were taken on a trip seeing many different events and connections. The relationship between Varang and Quaritch and how it develops. A feared fallout between Jake and Neytiri. Spider and his fusion into Pandora and the Na'vi. Lo’ak’s mental journey. So many more events with endless stories and layers excited fans. Emphasis on the endless story-telling as the movies are known for their length.

From my personal opinion, director James Cameron, film crew, and the actors did a good job captivating the audience with the additions of new characters and plot development, incorporating human emotions and struggles. The movie “Avatar: Fire and Ash” did really well, and the franchise definitely improved or at the very least, expanded.
